Despite their royal family members expressing their love for Mother’s Day through emotional social media messages, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not follow suit.
Why Did Harry And Meghan Not Post On Mother’s Day Message?
On Mother’s Day, the firm posted a collection of personal photos and messages from their team members, unlike the Sussexes.
Mother’s Day is observed in the UK as Mothering Sunday during March while in the US, it is celebrated on the second Sunday of May, which means that Americans did not celebrate the occasion on the same day.
The implication is that Harry and Meghan chose not to speak up as they, along with many others in the US, will observe the occasion on Sunday, 14th May 2023. After all, it would have conflicted with the announcements made by the firm.
On the other hand, for Mother’s Day, uplifting images of Kate Middleton with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were published.
In one photo, Kate is seen sitting on a tree with her kids while the message “Happy Mother’s Day from our family to yours” and a red heart are displayed. Another picture captures Kate happily playing with her son Louis.
Additionally, King Charles commemorated his late mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, on the first Mother’s Day after her passing.
A message that honored all mothers was shared on the internet, along with precious pictures that depict Charles as a joyful infant standing on the Queen’s legs.
Meanwhile, in a different photo, Queen Consort Camilla can be seen with a smile on her face while standing behind her mother Rosalind Shand, who passed away in 1994 due to osteoporosis after a prolonged struggle.
The post was included the following words: “To all mothers everywhere, and to those who may be missing their mums today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a special #MothersDay.”
The social media response was very clear. A certain subset of people made it clear that the Sussexes had made this decision intentionally in order to get more publicity for their posts.
Meanwhile, others were of the view that they had not done enough to support the cause of mothers. Therefore, such a post would have looked out of place.
One person wrote: “Aren’t they supposed to be doing good deeds? What have they done for schoolchildren or working mums? Nothing but take food out their mouths.”
With that being said, people can expect to see Harry and Meghan drop a Mother’s Day message sometime soon. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
