Since Tammy Slaton checked into treatment, she has made significant progress on her journey to a healthier weight. When it was revealed to the 37-year-old woman that she had shed more than 180 pounds, she was with her sisters Amanda and Misty. This was shown in an exclusive clip from “1000-Lb. Sisters” episode. At 717 pounds, Tammy sobbed as she checked into an Ohio weight reduction recovery center, saying, “the most I’ve ever weighed.”
According to Tammy’s comments in the clip, she needs to lose weight to 550 lbs to meet the requirements for surgery, “Until then, I hate getting on a scale. My worst fear is gaining weight. I don’t want to disappoint my family or myself.” When Tammy got on the scale, the doctor was shocked to see that she weighed 534 pounds.

“B— are you serious?” Amanda’s face lit up as she asked incredulously, “For real? Tammy, you see that!” Misty also expressed how proud she is of Tammy and how “so stoked” she is that she was able to meet the criteria for surgery. If Tammy can get down to 550 lbs, her bariatric surgeon, Dr. Eric Smith, will perform the procedure to help her lose weight. Tammy said, “I kinda stopped breathing for a second,” after seeing her weight on the scale read 534.7. “I’m like 14 lbs. under my goal weight. From over 700, that’s a huge drop.”
“I did that!” she teased. “I’m feeling thrilled, proud, excited — just all the emotions. I proved everybody wrong. Everybody that doubted me, I finally got mine! My told-you-so moment!” Amanda informed the 1000-Lb. Sisters star concerning the good news that by the time they see each other again, she will hopefully have had her operation. Tammy stated she is eager to “get it over with” and is excited about it.
“This is what we’ve been waiting for. This is what we’ve been working for,” A candid Amanda said. “Tammy’s made the goal weight, it might mean she’s finally gonna have surgery. She’s finally gonna get this and the future looks good.”
She continued, “I know there’s several other doctors that she has to get approved from but the way I look at it is, before we can ever go see those people she had to reach that weight loss goal that Dr. Smith had given her and Tammy’s done that,” She’s going to go ahead and do “the damn thing.”
